Who We Are

Currently, as a federally incorporated not-for-profit organization, we are a group of teachers and computer programmers with various backgrounds. We are looking for any volunteers who would like to join our cause, and would like to be a part of our endeavours. It is our intention to become a charity based foundation that offers services to educational systems whether through the use of the teachassist application or through the funds being donated to humanitarian causes focussed on areas of education.

Board of Directors

Eugene Chun, OCT

the creator of the teachassist application, and the founder of the teachassist foundation. Eugene is currently a secondary school teacher in the York Region District School Board, in the area of Computers. Eugene has a background in application development and has worked for IBM and Sony Music as an Information Technology Specialist and an Internet Technology Manager. It is his hope that this application and foundation be an aid for teachers and students, whether they use the application or benefit from the financial support from the foundation.

Steven Douglass, OCT, M.Ed.

Steven is currently a secondary school teacher in the York Region District School Board in the field of Science. Steven brings insight to the development of teachassist as well as to the direction of the humanitarian aspect of the teachassist foundation. Steven is a strong believer of education being a tool that can bring hope and success to those living in poverty.

Geoffrey Kavanagh, OCT

Geoffrey is currently an instructor in curriculum at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education in the field of Computer Studies. Geoffrey is a retired high school teacher with many years of experience in the classroom with high school students as well as teachers to be. Geoffrey brings a breadth of knowledge and experience to the teachassist foundation, which helps us focus on providing the right types of services for the educational market.
